Swiss Rose Wins Mode Stakes

Monday, 7th December 2009

NZ Windsor Park Stud's Gr1-winning Australian-bred sire Thorn Park (Spinning World-Joy, by Bluebird) added a black-type success when daughter Swiss Rose (Thorn Park-Finishing School, by Royal Academy) gained the decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the $100,000 Listed Mode Stakes (1200m) for 3YO fillies at Doomben. Swiss Rose (ridden by Brad Stewart for trainer Gillian Heinrich) scored by a short-halfhead from Madeittothemoon (Magic Albert-Our Promise, by Luskin Star) with a further short-neck to favourite Moama (Mossman-Annecy Miss, by Anabaa). Swiss Rose (a NZ$70,000 yearling at the 2008 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) now has 2 wins & 2 runners-up from 7 starts for $82,500 earnings.
