Kalath Wells Wins Argentina Gr1 Mansilla

Tuesday, 8th December 2009

In South America, front-running 3YO filly Kalath Wells (Poliglote-Kalath, by Kaljerry) led all-the-way to score a half-length victory over her older rivals in Argentina's Gr1 Gran Premio Copa De Plata-Roberto Vasquez Mansilla (2000m) for fillies & mares at San Isidro in Buenos Aires. Pharmaceutical magnate Juan Carlos Bago's Haras Firmamento home-bred Kalath Wells (ridden by Edwin Talaverano for trainer Miguel Garcia) notched her 5th successive win in defeating 4YO mares Ollagua (Pure Prize-Open Secrets, by West By West) & La Jolla (Pure Prize-Forli Vous, by Forlitano). Previously this season, Kalath Wells also won November’s Gr1 Gran Premio Seleccion-Argentine Oaks (2000m) at Hipodromo Palermo by 4-lengths, October’s G2 Clasico Francisco Beazley (1800m) at Palermo by 11-lengths & August’s Gr1 Clasico Seleccion De Potrancas (2000m) at Hipodromo La Plata by 5-lengths. Overall she now has 5 wins & a placing from 10 starts.
