Ekstreme Wins NZ Gr2 Cal Isuzu Stakes

Monday, 14th December 2009

In New Zealand, Stoney Bridge Stud's Gr1-winning Shadwell shuttle sire Ekraar (Red Ransom-Sacahuista, by Raja Baba) added a group success when 4YO mare Ekstreme (Ekraar-Cashcade, by Anziyan) scored by a half-head in the NZ$85,000 weight-for-age Gr2 Cal Isuzu Stakes (1600m) at Te Rapa. Ekstreme (ridden by Jason Waddell for trainer Bryce Revell) defeated 5YO mare Dancing Jess (Danske-Bandicoot, by Zabeel) & 6YO mare Veloce Bella (Volksraad-Wave To Lottie, by Crested Wave). Ekstreme (passed-in as a yearling for $15,000 at the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Select Sale) took her record to 6 wins (also including last week's Gr1 Captain Cook Stakes over 1600m at Trentham & March's Gr3 First Sovereign Trust Lowland Stakes over 2100m at Trentham) & 3 placings (including May's Gr3 Hidden Dragon Doomben Roses over 2020m) from 21 starts for NZ$255,775 earnings.
