Fallon Says Newmarket Rife With Drugs

Tuesday, 15th December 2009

Multiple British Champion jockey Kieren Fallon (who recently returned to riding following an 18 months drug ban) told a BBC program that drug taking is “especially acute in British flat racing's headquarters town of Newmarket”. Fallon also declared: "Newmarket has the highest rate (of drug use) for its population in any town in England”. Fallon, who has twice ridden the Gr1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner and was stable jockey for Henry Cecil until 1999, also served a 6 months ban in 2006 “for testing positive for a metabolite of cocaine”.
