Fasig-Tipton Dec Mixed: Average Up 11.5%
Overall at the Fasig-Tipton Texas December Mixed sale at Lone Star Park, 74 lots sold for US$245,300 (down 21.7% from last year’s 104 sold for US$306,300) at an average US$3,315 (up 11.5% from US$2,945) & a median US$2,500 (up 38.9% from US$1,800). However the buy-back rate fell from 46.7% last year to 26.3% this year. The top priced lot was a weanling filly (Valid Expectations-Templemartin, by Wolf Power) consigned by Will Farish’s Lanes End Farm for breeder Ed Few, was bought for US$19,000 by Hugh Fitzsimons. The filly is a full-sister to Valid Message, winner of the Skyy El Joven Stakes at Retama Park and the Sunny’s Halo Stakes at Louisiana Downs in 2008. Their dam 12YO winning Templemartin is a half-sister to US graded winner Freedom Crest winner of the US Gr2 Goodwood Breeders’ Cup & Gr2 San Pasqual Hcp.
