6 Aust-Bred Winners In Hong Kong

In Hong Kong last night, 6 Australian-bred gallopers scored at Happy Valley (click on the horse name to watch a video replay of each race):

  • 5YO gelding Daily Double (El Moxie-Giaconda, by Hennessy) won over 1650m for trainer Andy Leung. Daily Double was a $9,000 weanling at the 2005 Inglis Australian Select Sale & subsequently a $34,000 yearling at the 2006 Magic Millions Summer Sale.
  • 4YO gelding Packing Friend (Fusaichi Pegasus-Oh So Canny, by Sir Tristram) won over 1650m for trainer Peter Ho. Packing Friend was a $90,000 yearling at the 2007 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney & subsequently a NZ$170,000 2YO at the 2007 NZB Ready-To-Run Sale at Karaka.
  • 3YO gelding Fun Rider (Encosta de Lago-Danesty, by Danehill) won over 1650m for trainer Derek Cruz. Fun Rider was a $350,000 yearling consigned by Coolmore Stud at the 2008 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast.
  • 4YO gelding Secret Of Winning (Invincible Spirit-Lady Mantice, by Sir Tristram) won over 1000m for trainer Dennis Yip. Secret Of Winning was a $25,000 yearling at the 2007 Inglis Autumn Sale in Melbourne.
  • 6YO gelding Kenobe (Keltrice-Kimona, by Royal Academy) won over 1800m for Australian trainer John Moore.
  • 5YO gelding Fortune Red Pepper (Xaar-Deduce, by Known Fact) won over 1650m for trainer Manfred Man. Fortune Red Pepper was a $2,000 yearling at the 2006 Magic Millions Winter Sale.
