Aust-Bred Fasliyev Son Wins Macau Gr3

Tuesday, 6th April 2010

Former Coolmore Stud shuttler Fasliyev (Nureyev-Mr P's Princess, by Mr Prospector) added a Macau group success when Australian-bred 3YO gelding Dr Zhivago (Fasliyev-Amatista, by Scenic) led in an Austalian-bred trifecta & blitzed his older rivals by 5.75-lengths in the Gr3 Macua Derby Trial (1500m) at Taipa. Dr Zhivago (ridden by Fred Durso for Australian trainer Peter Leyshan) defeated Australian bred 4YO geldings Living Pegasus (Testa Rossa-Bella Moxie, by El Moxie) & Macau Eagle (Zeditave-So Amorous, by Generous). Dr Zhivago (a $45,000 yearling at the 2007 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale) now has 6 wins & 5 placings (including last start's Gr1 Macau Guineas over 1500m on March 20, plus both 2009's Gr3 Lisboa Challenge over 1400m & Gr3 Lisboa Prelude over 1200m) from 14 starts.
