Tuesday, 6th April 2010

Former Darley shuttler King's Best (Kingmambo-Allegretta, by Lombard) added a French black-type success when Godolphin's Irish-bred colt Simon De Montfort (King's Best-Noble Rose, by Caerleon) came from the rear of the field to score a fast-finishing 0.75-length victory in the €55,000 (A$83,000) Listed Prix Francois Mathet (2000m) for 3YO colts & geldings at Saint-Cloud. Simon De Montfort (ridden by Mickael Barzalona for trainer Andre Fabre) defeated fellow colts Pain Perdu (Vespone-Coastline, by Night Shift) & Fylarchos (Muhtathir-Alfreda, by Unfuwain). Simon De Montfort now has 3 wins from 4 starts for €56,500 (A$85,000) earnings.
