Orbit Express Wins Victoria Handicap

Greta West sire Dangerous (Danehill-Antwerp, by Sir Tristram) added a group success (& 3rd individual stakes-winner) when 6YO gelding Orbit Express (Dangerous-Look For Venus, by Ideal Planet) gained the decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the $125,000 Gr3 Victoria Handicap (1400m) at Caulfield in Melbourne. Orbit Express (ridden by Steven King for trainer Steve McKinnon) scored by a short-head from 6YO mare Amberino (Perugino-Amber Plate, by Rustic Amber) with a further long-head to fellow 6YO gelding Delayedreaction (Postponed-Arousing, by Kashani). Orbit Express (passed-in for $18,500 as a yearling at the 2005 Inglis Autumn Sale) now has 10 wins & 11 placings (including 2009's Listed Chester Manifold Stakes over 1410m at Flemington, plus both 2008's Gr3 Race-Tech Sandown Stakes over 1500m at Betfair Park & Listed Kilmore Cup over 1600m at Kilmore) from 40 starts for $438,085 earnings.
