Warrior's Reward Wins US Gr1 Carter Handicap

Multiple Gr1-winning boom US 3rd-season sire & now Darley shuttler Medaglia d'Oro (El Prado-Cappucino Bay, by Bailjumper) added a Gr1 triumph when fast-finishing 4YO entire Warrior's Reward (Medaglia D'oro-For All You Do, by Seeking The Gold) came from last-in-running to snatch victory by a nose in the US$250,000 Gr1 Carter Handicap (7 furlongs) at Aqueduct. Warrior's Reward (ridden by Julien Leparoux for trainer Ian Wilkes) defeated fellow 4YO entires Musket Man (Yonaguska-Fortuesque, by Fortunate Prospect) & favourite Munnings (Speightstown-La Comete, by Holy Bull). Warrior's Reward (a US$180,000 yearling at the 2007 Keeneland September Sale) took his record to 4 wins & 5 placings (including 2009's Gr2 Jim Dandy Stakes over 9 furlongs at Saratoga, Gr2 Dwyer Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Belmont Park & Gr3 Northern Dancer Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Churchill Downs) from 12 starts for US$418,442 earnings.
