NSW Stewards Probe Jockey Bets On Taree Race

Thursday, 8th April 2010

Racing NSW stewards also announced that they are investigating "betting activities on the Jockeys Challenge for the Taree race club meeting on the January 28". Initial evidence has been taken from jockeys Danny Peisley & Peter Graham, trainer Tas Morton, riders agent Brett Adkins & Ellen Peisley. Peisley has been charged with attempting to place a bet on the Jockey's Challenge on Peter Graham & that hearing was "adjourned so that a closer examination of telephone communications from Danny Peisley's mobile phone on the morning of the January 28 may be obtained". Stewards further advised Peisley that "they will continue their investigations into a number of bets placed on Peter Graham in the Jockeys Challenge prior to notification being given at 11.50am that Peisley was overweight & Graham was replacing him on Lots Of Success (Race 5) & I Love Legs (Race 8) trained by Morton". Stewards indicated they will be "providing notice to 2 Sydney-based persons who placed bets on the Taree Jockey's Challenge between 10.55am & 11.10am on the morning of the January 28". Stay tuned!
