Rodd & McEvoy "Caught In Backlog Of Suspensions"

Thursday, 8th April 2010

Michael Rodd "will have to wait until April 20" for his appeal against the severity of the $2,000 fine for whip use on Faint Perfume in her win in the Gr1 Vinery Stakes last Saturday, reported The Sydney Morning Herald. A "backlog of appeals has built up over the past couple of weeks" & a "date has yet to be set" for Darley's top stable rider Kerrin McEvoy's appeal against a month's suspension for his beaten ride on Shakes at Randwick on March 18. Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'landys noted: "We acted as secretary for the appeals committee chairman (John Hiatt) & he has been on annual leave."
