1st Winner For US Sire Deputy Storm Sets Track Record

Friday, 9th April 2010

US multiple stakes-winning 9YO stallion Deputy Storm (Forestry-Deputy Jane West, by Silver Deputy) recorded his 1st winner overnight when Pennsylvania-bred 2YO filly Twelve Pack Shelly (Deputy Storm-So Smashing, by Two Punch) blitzed her rivals by 10.75-lengths & set a track record (50.83sec) for 4.5 furlongs at Laurle Park in Maryland for trainer John Salzman. Deputy Storm (whose dam Deputy Jane West was 1993 Canadian champion 2YO filly) is a grandson of Storm Cat & stands at Northview Stallion Station in Maryland. On the track he won 4 of 11 starts (including the 2003 Listed Tyro Stakes as a juvenile at Monmouth Park & 2005 Listed King Cotton Stakes at Oaklawn Park, plus 2 graded-stakes placings).
