Brilliant Light Wins Doncaster Prelude

European 2001 Horse-Of-The-Year & 6-time Gr1-winning former Darley shuttler Fantastic Light (Rahy-Jood, by Nijinsky) added a group success when 4YO gelding Brilliant Light (Fantastic Light-Trick Taker, by Capote) notched his 2nd stakes-win in a fortnight with a half-length victory in the $125,000 Listed Doncaster Prelude (1600m) at Randwick. Brilliant Light (ridden by Jay Ford for trainer Ken Parker) defeated favoured 4YO mare Gold Water (Choisir-Float, by Devil's Bag) & 5YO entire Snapy Halo (Southern Halo-Esnaola, by Ringaro). Brilliant Light (a $32,000 yearling at the 2007 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney) now has 7 wins (also including last start's Gr2 Ajax Stakes over 1500m at Rosehill on March 27) & 2 runners-up (including March's Gr3 Newcastle Newmarket Handicap over 1400m at Broadmeadow) from 14 starts for $323,670 earnings.
