Monday, 12th April 2010

NZ Cambridge Stud's multiple champion sire Zabeel (Sir Tristram-Lady Giselle, by Nureyev) added a black-type success (& 131st individual stakes-winner) when gelded son Brother Mak (Zabeel-Enhancer, by Red Tempo) scored by a neck in the $75,000 Listed Melvista Stakes (2200m) for 3YO colts & geldings at Ascot in Perth. Brother Mak (ridden by Patrick Carbery for trainer Wally Mitchell) defeated fellow geldings Zentrate (Zentsov Street-Nitrate, by Paris House) & Four Floors (Red Ransom-Riverina, by Irish River). Brother Mak (a $260,000 yearling consigned by Cambridge Stud at the 2008 NZB Premier Sale at Karaka) took his record to 3 wins from 7 starts for $74,200 earnings.
