Ollagua Wins Argentina Gr1 Gilberto Lerena

Also in Argentina, 4YO mare Ollagua (Pure Prize-Open Secrets, by West By West) scored a 2-lengths victory  in the Gr1 Gran Premio Gilberto Lerena (2000m) for fillies & mares at Palermo to avenge her runner-up finish in this same race last year. Ollagua (ridden by Altair Domingues for trainer Jose Alves) defeated 3YO fillies Malpensa (Orpen-Marsella, by Southern Halo) & Foggy Stripes (Equal Stripes-La Boira Baixa, by Gem Master). Ollagua took her record to 10 wins (also including January's Gr2 Clasico Juan Shaw over 2200m at San Isidro, plus 2009's Gr1 Gran Premio Estrellas Distaff over 2000m at San Isidro, Gr1 Gran Premio Comparacion over 2000m at Palermo, Gr2 Clasico Arturo Bullrich over 2000m at Palermo & Gr2 Clasico Juan Shaw over 2200m at San Isidro, as well as 2008's Gr1 Gran Premio Enrique Acebal over 2000m at San Isidro) & 6 placings (including March's Gr2 Clasico Arturo Bullrich over 2000m at Palermo, plus 2009's Gr1 Gran Premio Copa De Plata-Roberto Vasquez Mansilla over 2000m at San Isidro & Gr1 Gran Premio Gilberto Lerena over 2000m at Palermo) from 17 starts.
