Asian RC 4: UK Plan To Target Youth

Tuesday, 13th April 2010

British Horseracing Authority chief executive Nic Coward explained how Britian's next generation of racegoers is being targeted through a network of university racing societies, a new members' club confined to 18-25-year-olds & a dedicated on-line social network site. Coward noted: "We will create ambassadors in the universities & give them the resources to put together trips to the races." And the tender process to build an on-line social networking site "is about to be launched. We'll have a new website focus, so that young racegoers can build on the fun they have at racecourses. We have to focus on opening younger minds to horseracing & the fact that its essence is built around fun, celebrity, heroes & quality."
