Gr1-Winning Colt Wanted Retired To Stud

Tuesday, 13th April 2010

Trainer Peter Moody announced "a meeting with connections" had decided to retire Gr1-winning & triple Gr1-placed 3YO colt Wanted (Fastnet Rock-Fragmentation, by Snippets) to stud, following his 4th placing in last weekend's Gr1 T.J.Smith Stakes (1200m) at Randwick. Moody told Radio Sport 927: "He'll go to stud & he's 100% sound. Hopefully a stud deal can be finalised in the next 2 or 3 days. There's a few leading studs in the mix." Wanted (an $800,000 yearling at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) recorded 3 wins (including March's Gr1 Newmarket Handicap over 1200m at Flemington & 2009's Gr3 Kindergarten Stakes over 1100m at Randwick) & 6 placings (including runner-up in both February's Gr1 William Reid Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley & January's Gr1 Coolmore Lightning Stakes over 1000m at Flemington, plus 2009's Gr1 Patinack Farm Classic over 1200m at Flemington, Gr2 Schillaci Stakes over 1000m at Caulfield, Gr2 Danehill Stakes over 1200m at Flemington & Listed Canonbury Stakes over 1100m at Randwick) from 15 starts for $1,216,000 earnings.
