Thursday, 15th April 2010

Eduardo Cojuangco's Gooree Stud announced it has retired Gr2-winning 4YO sprinter Dreamscape (Choisir-Faith In Dreams, by Ferdinand) to join fellow Gooree-owned stallion Northern Meteor at Widden Stud to stand his debut breeding season this spring. Widden principal Antony Thompson commented: "Dreamscape was a top-class sprinter with a world-class pedigree, so will slot perfectly into our stallion roster." On the track, Dreamscape recorded 4 wins (including last month's Gr3 Liverpool City Cup over 1300m at Warwick Farm, plus 2008's Gr2 Arrowfield Stud Stan Fox Stakes over 1400m at Randwick & Gr3 Up And Coming Stakes over 1200m at Warwick Farm) & 2 placings (including February's Gr3 Southern Cross Stakes over 1200m at Randwick, plus 2008's Listed Ming Dynasty Quality Handicap over 1400m at Rosehill) from 11 starts for $390,200 earnings. Trainer Gai Waterhouse declared: "He was one of the most exciting colts in my yard. This is a stallion who has everything: he is an athlete of the highest calibre, he hails from a marvellous sire producing family & he has smashing looks." Dreamscape will stand at Widden for $9,900.
