Inglis Mares Day-2: $775k Snowdrift

In the auction ring, NSW bloodstock agent Kieran Moore paid top price of $775,000 for 16-year-old French-bred mare Snowdrift (Polish Precedent-Snowtop, by Thatching) during the 2nd session at the 4-day Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale at Newmarket in Sydney. Snowdrift (consigned by Tyreel Thoroughbred Stud as agent) was sold in-foal to deceased former Vinery Stud shuttler & in recent years permanently Australian-based stallion Red Ransom. Snowdrift has produced 5 foal to race (all winners) including Gr1-winning former Widden Stud sire Snowland (9 victories & $1,140,600 earnings), dual stakes-winning & Gr2-placed current Widden Stud freshman sire Snippetson, dual Gr2-winner & dual Gr1-placed Portillo (to whom the in-utero foal will be a full-relation), plus stakes-placed Freeze & stakes-placed Snowden.
