Poor Judge Wins Weetwood Handicap

Former shuttler & now permanently Australian-based Coolmore stallion Royal Academy (Nijinsky-Crimson Saint, by Crimson Satan) added a black-type success when favoured 4YO gelding Poor Judge (Royal Academy-Outward Display, by Thunder Gulch) made it 3 successive wins in 4 weeks with a 5.25-length victory in course record time yesterday's $150,000 Listed Weetwood Handicap (1200m) at Toowoomba in Queensland. Poor Judge (ridden by Chris Munce for trainer Norm Hilton) clocked 1min 12.04sec in defeating fellow 4YO gelding Drenalin (Monashee Mountain-Gee Eye Jane, by Clang) & 5YO gelding Sommersea Drive (Lujain-Celtic Moondance, by Natski). Poor Judge (a $130,000 yearling consigned by Widden Stud at the 2007 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast) now has 9 wins (also including last start's Listed Bribie Handicap over 1200m at Eagle Farm on April 3) & 4 placings from 18 starts for $253,500 earnings.
