Friday, 16th April 2010

In the UK auction ring overnight, Italian agent Federico Barberini (acting on behalf of fellow agent Oliver St Lawrence & his Bahrain-based owner Fawzi Nass) paid top price of 400,000 guineas ($680,000) for a colt by former Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (out of Gr3-winning Partner's Hero mare Love Match) during the closing session at the 2-day Tattersalls Craven 2YO Breeze-Up Sale. The colt (consigned from pin-hooker Willie Browne's Mocklershill Stables) was previously purchased for US$150,000 as a yearling last year.
