Rangirangdoo Wins Gr1 Doncaster Mile

On the Australian track, NZ Rich Hill Stud stallion Pentire (Be My Guest-Gull Nook, by Mill Reef) added a Gr1 triumph when 5YO gelding Rangirangdoo (Pentire-She Wishes, by Kenfair) stormed home to snatch a half-neck victory in the $1.5 million Gr1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Royal Randwick in Sydney. Rangirangdoo (ridden by Nash Rawiller for trainer Chris Waller) defeated 5YO entire Road To Rock (Encosta De Lago-Trewornan, by Midyan) & 4YO gelding Brilliant Light (Fantastic Light-Trick Taker, by Capote). Rangirangdoo (a NZ$170,000 yearling at the 2006 NZB Premier Sale at Karaka) now has 9 wins (also including February's Gr2 Expressway Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill, plus 2009's Gr2 Patinack Farm Crystal Mile over 1600m at Moonee Valley & Gr3 Tramway Handicap over 1300m at Randwick) & 9 placings (including last start's Gr1 Ranvet Stakes over 2000m at Rosehill on March 20, plus March's Gr1 Patinack Farm Chipping Norton Stakes over 1600m) at Warwick Farm & February's Gr2 Apollo Stakes over 1400m at Rosehill, as well as 2009's Gr1 Arrrowfield Stud Epsom Handicap over 1600m at Randwick & Gr2 Shannon Stakes over 1500m at Rosehill) from 19 starts for $1,730,740 earnings.
