E Duabi Adds US Gr3

Tuesday, 20th April 2010

On the US track, former Darley shuttler E Dubai (Mr Prospector-Words Of War, by Lord At War) added a graded-stakes success when confusingly-named 6YO gelding Dubious Miss (E Dubai-Cryptoclover, by Mountain Cat) scored a front-running 1.5-lengths victory in the US$150,000 Gr3 Ben Ali Stakes (9 furlongs on all-weather) for 4YOs & up at Keeneland in Kentucky. Favourite Dubious Miss (ridden by Calvin Borel for trainer Paul McGee) defeated 7YO entire Kiss The Kid (Lemon Drop Kid-Black Tie Kiss, by Danzig) & 4YO entire Giant Oak (Giant's Causeway-Crafty Oak, by Crafty Prospector). Dubious Miss took his record to 8 wins & 5 placings (including February's Gr3 Fair Grounds Handicap over 9 furlongs at Fair Grounds, plus 2009's Gr3 Kentucky Cup Classic Stakes over 9 furlongs at Turfway Park & Gr2 Washington Park Handicap over 9.5 furlongs at Arlington Park) from 19 starts for US$429,630 earnings.
