Rodd "Whip" Appeal Dismissed But Fine Cut 50%

Jockey Michael Rodd's appeal against the controversial $2,000 fine (for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m) imposed by Racing NSW stewards after his winning ride on Faint Perfume in the Vinery Stud Stakes at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney on April 3 was dismissed yesterday; however the Appeal Panel halved the fine to $1,000.
