Williams Granted Contract To Ride In Japan

Wednesday, 21st April 2010

Leading Victorian jockey Craig Williams "has been granted a contract in Japan & will ride there next month for leading trainer Noriyuki Hori," reported The Herald-Sun. The contract allows Williams to ride in Japan "for any 3-months in the next year". Williams (who has been offered similar invitations in the past, but was tied to the David Hayes stable and had to decline) enthused: "This year is a perfect opportunity to go. I will see how it all unfolds after spending a month there." Williams also confirmed he was still talking to Sydney trainer Gai Waterhouse about riding for her, noting: "We've had several discussions. I need to spend some time there to see how it all works out & at this stage I haven't had that time."
