UK Doncaster 2YOs: $232k Dubawi Colt

Thursday, 22nd April 2010

In the UK overnight, agent Adam Driver (acting for Dubai-based owner Malih Al Basti) paid top price of £140,000 (A$232,000) for a colt by triple Gr1-winning Darley shuttler Dubawi (the 1st foal out of stakes-placed Lend A Hand mare Improvise) at the 1-day Doncaster Bloodstock April 2YO Breeze-Up Sale. The colt (consigned by Irish pin-hooker Con Marnane's Bansha House Stables) was previously purchased for just £25,000 (A$42,000) at the Doncaster St Leger Yearling Sale last August. Driver (racing manager for Global Equine Group) told racingpost.com: "A decision about where the colt goes will be made in the next couple of days. He is a lovely horse & looks just like his sire. He breezed well, is a clean horse & is lovely through & through."
