Boundless Wins NZ Hawke's Bay Gold Cup

In New Zealand, former Trelawney Stud shuttler Van Nistelrooy (Storm Cat-Halory, by Halo) added a group success when 5YO mare Boundless (Van Nistelrooy-Nothing Less, by Star Way) scored a 0.75-length victory in the NZ$70,000 Gr3 Hawke’s Bay Gold Cup (2200m) at Hastings. Boundless (ridden by Leith Innes for trainer Stephen McKee) defeated 8YO gelding Manonamission (Kilimanjaro-Arctic Life, by Arctic Tern) & 5YO gelding Royal Jazz (Postponed-Jazz n Along, by St Hilarion). Boundless (a NZ$80,000 yearling at the 2006 NZB Premier Sale at Karaka) took her record to 9 wins (also including 2009’s Gr2 Counties Cup over 2100m at Pukekohe & Gr3 Nicolas Feuillatte Stakes over 2000m at Ellerslie, plus 2008's Gr1 NZ Oaks over 2400m at Trentham) & 4 placings (including 2009’s Gr2 Avondale Gold Cup over 2200m at Avondale, plus 2008's Gr1 AJC Australian Oaks over 2400m at Randwick & 2007's Listed Soliloquy Stakes over 1400m at Ellerslie) from 30 starts for NZ$698,897 earnings.
