King's Best Adds French Gr3

Tuesday, 27th April 2010

Former Darley shuttler King's Best (Kingmambo-Allegretta, by Lombard) added a French group success when Godolphin's Irish-bred colt Simon De Montfort (King's Best-Noble Rose, by Caerleon) notched his 2nd successive stakes-win in 3 weeks when he scored by a neck in the €80,000 (A$120,000) Gr3 Prix La Force (2000m) for 3YOs at Longchamp. Simon De Montfort (ridden by Mickael Barzalona for trainer Andre Fabre) defeated fellow colt Pain Perdu (Vespone-Coastline, by Night Shift) & UK-bred gelding Circumvent (Tobougg-Seren Devious, by Dr Devious). Simon De Montfort now has 4 wins (also including last start’s Listed Prix Francois Mathet over 2000m at Saint-Cloud on April 4) from 5 starts for €96,500 (A$145,000) earnings.
