$7.7k Seidnazar To Stand At Banchory

Wednesday, 28th April 2010

Darling Downs-based Banchory Thoroughbreds in Queensland will stand stakes-winning & Gr1-placed 7YO stallion Seidnazar (Rory's Jester-Dangerous Seam, by Straight Strike) this season at $7,700. Proprietors Richard & Mary Lee Trivett said the “growing appeal of Queensland's QTIS scheme” has encouraged them to install the historic breeding establishment’s 1st stallion in decades. Seidnazar (represented this season by his initial 2YO crop) previously stood at Wagga Wagga-based Riverdene Stud in NSW. On the track, Seidnazar won the Listed St Albans Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley & notched 6 stakes-placings in 13 starts for $368,650: his highlights included runner-ups in the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield, Gr2 Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) at Flemington & Listed Debutant Stakes (900m) on debut at Caulfield, plus placings in the Gr2 Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill, Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) at Caulfield & Gr3 Dermody Stakes (1000m) at Cheltenham. His acclaimed sire of juveniles Rory's Jester won Australia's premier 2YO sprint, the Gr1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m); & his dam Dangerous Seam was also a high-class 2YO (winning the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes).
