NSW Jockey Peisley 5-Months Ban For Betting

Wednesday, 28th April 2010

Racing NSW stewards yesterday suspended jockey Danny Peisley for 5-months following their inquiry into  “matters associated with betting activities on the Jockeys Challenge (race) at the Taree Race Club meeting on the January 28”. Stewards heard that at 8:57am & 9:57am on January 28, Peisley attempted to place a bet on fellow rider Peter Graham in the Taree jockeys challenge through the telephone betting account of his mother Ellen Peisley; later that day, Peisley officially advised stewards of his inability to fulfil his own rides that day & Graham subsequently picked up 2 rides for which Peisley had been booked. Stewards also noted their inquiry is on-going in relation to several other people who may have bet on the race.
