Pencarrow Offers 34 Young Mares At NZB National Sale

Wednesday, 28th April 2010

In New Zealand, Pencarrow Stud (which traditionally retains & races most of its fillies) will offer for sale its first mares for many years when it auctions 34 predominantly young mares at next week’s NZB National Weanling, Broodmare & Mixed Bloodstock Sale “in a strategic decision to slow the expansion of its broodmare band”. Stud manager Leon Casey commented: “The fact is the stud retains & races so many fillies that we now have to try & put a ceiling on the numbers we have on our books. The line-up includes some very attractive breeding prospects. It includes some young mares fresh off the track, plus for the first time in many years we'll offer mares from Darci Brahma & Riverina Charm's families, families we've been working on for over 20 years.”
