Thursday, 29th April 2010

In the UK overnight, European Horse-Of-The-Year & 7-time Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler Rock Of Gibraltar (Danehill-Offshore Boom, by Be My Guest) added a black-type success when Irish-bred colt Society Rock (Rock Of Gibraltar-High Society, by Key Of Luck) returned from a 7-months spell to score a 0.75-length victory in the £40,000 (A$64,000) Listed Pavilion Stakes (6 furlongs) for 3YOs at Ascot. Society Rock (ridden by Pat Cosgrave for trainer James Fanshawe) defeated fellow colts Corporal Maddox (Royal Applause-Noble View, by Distant View) & Mon Cadeaux (Cadeaux Genereux-Ushindi, by Montjeu). Society Rock now has 3 wins (also including last year's Tattersalls Timeform Millions Sprint) from 5 starts.
