Aust-Bred Ultra Fantasy Wins HK Gr2 Sprint Cup

In Hong Kong, Coolmore-based stallion & Australian Champion Sire of the last 2 seasons Encosta de Lago (Fairy King-Shoal Creek, by Star Way) added a group success when front-running Australian-bred 7YO gelding Ultra Fantasy (Encosta de Lago-Belle Anglaise, by Sir Ivor) scored by a short head in HK$3 million (A$430,000) Gr2 Sprint Cup (1200m) at Sha Tin. Ultra Fantasy (ridden by jockey Alex Lai for trainer Ricky Yiu) defeated 6YO gelding Green Birdie (Catbird-Mrs Squillionaire, by Last Tycoon) & Australian-bred 5YO gelding Happy Zero (Danzero-Have Love, by Canny Lad). Ultra Fantasy (a $30,000 yearling consigned by Eldon Park Stud at the 2004 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale) began his career in Victoria as Quay Lago & overall now has 8 wins & 14 placings (including January's Gr1 Centenary Sprint Cup over 1000m) from 46 starts.
