Brahms Adds US Gr3

Gr1-winning former Vinery Stud shuttler Brahms (Danzig-Queens, by Mr Prospector) added a US graded-stakes success when 7YO gelding Arson Squad (Brahms-Majestic Fire, by Green Dancer) notched his 2nd successive stakes-win with a 2.25-lengths victory in the US$170,000 Gr3 Alysheba Stakes (8.5 furlongs) at Churchill Downs. Arson Squad (ridden by Paco Lopez for trainer Richard Dutrow) defeated 4YO entire Flying Private (Fusaichi Pegasus-Beautiful Treasure, by Unbridled) & 5YO gelding Enriched (High Brite-Li'l Ms Leonard, by Nostalgia's Star). Arson Squad (a US$20,000 weanling at the 2003 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November Sale & later a US$100,000 yearling at the 2004 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Sale) took his record to 8 wins (also including last start's Gr3 Skip Away Handicap over 9.5 furlongs at Gulfstream Park on April 3, plus 2008's Gr2 Meadowlands Cup Handicap over 9 furlongs at Meadowlands & 2007's Gr2 Strub Stakes over 9 furlongs at Santa Anita, as well as 2006's Gr2 Swaps Breeders' Cup Stakes over 9 furlongs at Hollywood Park & Listed San Pedro Stakes over 6.5 furlongs at Santa Anita) & 5 placings (including March's Listed Challenger Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Tampa Bay Downs, plus 2006's Gr2 Lazaro Barrera Memorial Stakes over 7 furlongs at Hollywood Park & Gr3 Affirmed Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Hollywood Park) from 27 starts for US$1,108,164 earnings.
