Monday, 3rd May 2010

In New Zealand, Stoney Bridge Stud's Gr1-winning Shadwell shuttle sire Ekraar (Red Ransom-Sacahuista, by Raja Baba) added a group success when 4YO mare Ekstreme (Ekraar-Cashcade, by Anziyan) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the NZ$85,000 weight-for-age Gr2 Travis Stakes (2000m) for fillies & mares at Te Rapa. Ekstreme (ridden by Jason Waddell for trainer Bryce Revell) defeated fellow 4YO mare Sharp Princess (Pins-She's Snubbed, by O'Reilly) & 5YO mare Shi Kin Fly (Shinko King-Blondini, by Big Spender). Ekstreme (passed-in as a yearling for $15,000 at the 2007 NZB Select Sale) took her record to 7 wins (also including 2009's Gr1 Captain Cook Stakes over 1600m at Trentham, Gr2 Cal Isuzu Stakes over 1600m at Te Rapa & Gr3 First Sovereign Trust Lowland Stakes over 2100m at Trentham) & 3 placings (including 2009's Gr3 Hidden Dragon Doomben Roses over 2020m) from 27 starts for NZ$364,025 earnings.
