Monday, 3rd May 2010

Gr1-winning former Blue Gum Farm shuttler King Charlemagne (Nureyev-Race The Wild Wind, by Sunny's Halo) added a black-type success when 5YO mare Hanabananah (King Charlemagne-Langtryst, by Langfuhr) prevailed in a 3-way photo-finish to yesterday's $100,000 Listed Proud Miss Stakes (1200m) for fillies & mares at Morphettville. Hanabananah (ridden by Steven King for trainer Mark Minervini) scored by a short-head from 4YO mare Impressive Eagle (Rubiton-Wedgetail Eagle, by Lure) with a further half-neck to top-weighted fellow 4YO mare Augusta Proud (More Than Ready-Kadasha, by Langfuhr). Hanabananah now has 7 wins & a placing from 25 starts for $160,648 earnings. (Click on the link for full race details from Group Race Results at AAP Racing.)
