Belle Watling Wins Chile Gr1 Bicentenario Movistar

In Chile, boom 3YO filly Belle Watling (Dushyantor-Biala, by The Great Shark) notched her 4th Gr1 triumph (& 6th consecutive stakes-win) with a decisive 3.25-lengths victory against older rivals in the Gr1 Gran Premio Bicentenario Movistar (2200m) at Hipodromo Chile in Santiago. Belle Watling (ridden by Hector Berrios for trainer Juan Pablo Baeza) defeated front-running fellow 3YO filly Cuan Linda (Dynamix-Cuanta Bondad, by Crowning Tribute) & 4YO entire Importador (Indy Dancer-No Me Pillan, by Nureyev Dancer). Belle Watling (a full-sister to Chilean champion Scarlet) took her record to 9 wins (also including April's Listed Clasico Julio Prado Amor over 2000m at Hipodromo Chile, plus 2009's Gr1 Clasico El Ensayo-Cristal over 2400m at Club Hipico, Gr1 Premio Nacional Ricardo Lyon-Cruz Del Sur over 2000m at Club Hipico, Gr1 Premio Polla De Potrancas over 1700m at Club Hipico, Gr2 Premio Gran Clasico Coronacion-Entel over 2000m at Club Hipico, Gr3 Premio Julio Subercaseaux Browne over 1600m at Santiago & Listed Premio Carlos Cousino Goyenechea over 1200m at Club Hipico) & 2 placings (in 2009's Gr1 Premio Arturo Lyon Pena over 1600m at Club Hipico & Gr2 Premio Criadores Dorama over 1600m at Club Hipico) from 12 starts.
