NSW Strategic Plan 5: $70m For Infrastructure

Friday, 7th May 2010

Racing NSW foreshadowed "significant expenditure on public facilities, tracks & training facilities" including:

  • A $70 million investment in infrastructure over the next 5 years "to improve customer facilities at racecourses, as well as improved racing surfaces & training facilities".
  • Significant capital expenditure "is required to improve the level of customer facilities at Sydney racecourses, particularly at Royal Randwick which is presently being pursued through the AJC Masterplan. This is vital to attracting greater business from corporate customers, sponsors & attendees at racetracks."
  • Included in the capital investment "is the creation of regional Centres of Excellence to provide the opportunity for the owners of a greater number of country-trained horses to benefit from superior training facilities".
