Irish Colleen Wins NZ Rotorua Stakes

Paxton Park sire Shinko King (Fairy King-Rose Of Jericho, by Alleged) added a group success when 5YO mare Irish Colleen (Shinko King-Fayette, by Grosvenor) scored a 0.25-length victory in the NZ$45,000 weight-for-age Listed Rotorua Stakes (1400m) for fillies & mares at Arawa Park. Irish Colleen (ridden by Hayden Tinsley for trainer Stephen McKee) defeated fellow 5YO mare Barinka (Shinko King-Hay Barlu, by Hey Baba Riba) & 4YO mare La Etoile (Thorn Park-Desert Wine, by Deputy Governor). Irish Colleen (a NZ$8,5000 weanling at the 2005 NZ Bloodstock Broodmare Sale) now has 6 wins (also including 2009's Gr2 Concorde over 1200m at Avondale) & 9 placings from 28 starts for NZ$217,775 earnings.
