Sainthood Wins Wagga Wagga Gold Cup

Former Woodlands & now Darley 11-time Gr1-winning World Champion Miler & Australian Racehorse-Of-The-Year Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a black-type success when favoured 4YO gelding Sainthood (Lonhro-Bonne Famille, by Anabaa) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the $130,000 Listed Wagga Wagga Gold Cup (2000m) in NSW. Sainthood (ridden by Glen Boss for trainer Rick Worthington) defeated 6YO gelding Barlagarney (Danehill-Sorb Apple, by Kris) & 7YO gelding Twin Wing (Istidaad-Tiger Moth, by Sky Chase). Sainthood (passed-in for $150,000 as a yearling at the 2007 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale) now has 4 wins (also including March's Listed National Sprint over 1400m in Canberra) & 4 placings from 15 starts for $224,580 earnings.
