Lyndhurst Stud sire Sequalo (Rustic Amber-Dash Around, by Bending Away) added a black-type success when favoured colt Spirit Of Boom (Sequalo-Temple Spirit, by Special Dane) scored by a short-head in the $100,000 Listed Ken Russell Memorial Classic (1200m) for 2YOs at the Gold Coast. Spirit Of Boom (ridden by Daniel Ganderton for trainer Tony Gollan) defeated fellow colts Adebisi (Shovhog-Hell For Leather, by Sanction) & Jypsiere (Snitzel-Miss Terrain, by Spartacus). Spirit Of Boom (a $90,000 yearling consigned by Eureka Thoroughbreds at the 2009 Magic Millions QTIS 600 Sale) now has 3 wins & a runner-up (in 2009's Listed Phelan Ready Stakes over 1000m at Eagle Farm) from 5 starts for $219,400 earnings.
