Tinkler Reveals: "$20m-A-Year To Run Patinack"

Friday, 14th May 2010

Patinack Farm principal Nathan Tinkler told The Daily Telegraph his long-term goal is to "position Patinack Farm's racing business to be a serious premiership contender in every state & every season". He noted: "If you have the leading trainer & winning 10 Gr1 races a year, a lot of things can flow from that & this is what we are trying to do. The only real measure of success is performance on the track & I'm certain that is going to happen." Tinkler also emphasised: "We have decided not to run our fights in the media. . . . . I don't think people understand Patinack employs over 150 people & 300 suppliers across the nation, it takes $20 million a year to run this operation & we are a major supporter of the industry & the community, having invested more than $200 million in the midst of the global financial crisis. We run Patinack Farm for my own personal satisfaction & for the team's satisfaction. We are not a Darley or Coolmore; we are just trying to build a business."
