Monday, 17th May 2010

Former Darley shuttler Cape Cross (Green Desert-Park Appeal, by Ahonoora) added a UK black-type success when Irish-bred colt Corsica (Cape Cross-Cedar Sea, by Persian Bold) scored a front-running 1.5-lengths victory in the £45,000 (A$74,000) Listed Glasgow Stakes (11 furlongs) for 3YOs at Hamilton. Corsica (ridden by Joe Fanning for trainer Mark Johnston) defeated the gelding Admission (Azamour-Eve, by Rainbow Quest) & fellow colt Take It To The Max (Bahamian Bounty-Up And About, by Barathea). Corsica was a 20,000 guineas (A$34,000) yearling at the 2008 UK Tattersalls October Sale & later a 48,000 guineas (A$82,000) 2YO at the 2009 Tattersalls April Sale. Overall Corsica now has 4 wins & a runner-up from 7 starts for £40,583 (A$67,000) earnings.
