Hunter Breeders Welcome Bickham Mine Ban

The Thoroughbred Breeders of the Hunter Valley welcomed NSW Premier Kristina Keneally's announcement, with Arrowfield Stud boss John Messara declaring: "The Premier's decision has put an end to 10 long years of uncertainty for our industry & our community. The thoroughbred breeding industry of the Hunter Valley & the many industries that support us can now proceed to build & invest in the future with certainty." The Hunter Valley contains the largest concentration of thoroughbred breeding studs in the world outside Kentucky & produces half of all thoroughbreds born in Australia annually.
