Keepin' The Dream Wins Emirates Park Scone Cup

NZ Cambridge Stud stallion Keeper (Danehill-Nuwirah, by Pleasant Colony) added a black-type success when 5YO gelding Keepin' the Dream (Keeper-Irish Nassie, by Nassipour) prevailed in a 3-way photo-finish to the $120,000 Listed Emirates Park Scone Cup (1600m) at Scone in the NSW Hunter Valley. Keepin' The Dream (ridden by Jim Cassidy for trainers Jim & Greg Lee) scored by a neck from 4YO gelding Snow Alert (Red Ransom-Flurry, by Groom Dancer) with a further long-neck to fellow 5YO gelding Tagus (Encosta De Lago-Lady Capel, by Last Tycoon). Keepin' The Dream took his record to 4 wins (also including 2009's Gr3 Hawkesbury Gold Cup over 1600m & Listed Sky High Stakes over 1900m at Rosehill) & 6 placings (including 2008's Listed Wyong Gold Cup over 2100m) from 34 starts for $284,855 earnings.
