Monday, 17th May 2010

Ill-fated Gr1-winning Glenlogan Park sire Shot Of Thunder (Thunder Gulch-My Brilliant Star, by Copper Kingdom) recorded his 1st stakes-winner when 5YO mare Persian Star (Shot Of Thunder-Persian Trifle, by Persian Heights) scored a 1.75-lengths victory in the $200,000 Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes (3200m) at Flemington in Melbourne. Persian Star (ridden by Glen Boss for trainer Robert Smerdon) defeated favoured 6YO gelding Ajhar (Diesis-Min Alhawa, by Riverman) & front-running fellow 6YO gelding Come On Cugat (King Cugat-Come On Klaire, by Sir Tristram). Persian Star (a $7,000 weanling consigned by Hoofprints at the 2005 Magic Millions National Sale) now has 7 wins & 8 placings from 32 starts for $336,446 earnings.
