Precious Lorraine Wins Gibson Carmichael Stakes

Coolmore-based stallion & Australian Champion Sire of the last 2 seasons Encosta de Lago (Fairy King-Shoal Creek, by Star Way) added a juvenile black-type success when favoured filly Precious Lorraine (Encosta De Lago-Monsoon Wedding, by Danehill) notched her 2nd successive stakes-win in a fortnight with a 2.75-lengths victory against the males in the $100,000 Listed Gibson Carmichael Stakes (1600m) for 2YOs at Flemington. Precious Lorraine (ridden by Steven Arnold for trainer David Hayes) defeated top-weighted colt Mr Chard (Al Samer-Najar, by Secret Savings) & fellow filly Very Cherry (Anabaa-Woodie, by Woodman). Precious Lorraine now has 2 wins (also including the Listed Oaklands Plate over 1600m at Morphettville on May 2) & a placing from 3 starts for $126,550 earnings.
