Rossini Adds US Black-Type

Monday, 17th May 2010

Former NZ Glenmorgan Stud shuttler Rossini (Miswaki-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a US black-type success when 4YO mare Sakakawea (Rossini-Sarouka, by Beau's Eagle) scored by a neck in the US$70,000 Listed Mamie Eisenhower Stakes (6 furlongs) for mares 4YO & up at Prairie Meadows in Indiana. Sakakawea (ridden by Alex Birzer for trainer Ray Tracy) defeated fellow 4YO mares Go Milan Go (Broken Vow-Bookaparty, by Mari's Book) & Souvenir Secret (Souvenir Copy-Endless Vibration, by Relaunch). Sakakawea took her record to 6 wins (also including 2009's Listed Bob Bryant Stakes over 6 furlongs at Prairie Meadows) & 3 runners-up from 12 starts for US$190,931 earnings.
