Monday, 17th May 2010

Ill-fated dual Gr1-winning former Widden Stud stallion General Nediym (Nediym-Military Belle, by Without Fear) added a black-type success when 3YO filly So Anyway (General Nediym-Addictive, by Flying Spur) gained the decision against older rivals in a 3-way photo-finish to the $110,000 Listed Yarraman Park Dark Jewel Classic (1400m) for fillies & mares at Scone. So Anyway (ridden by Peter Robl for trainer John Thompson) scored by a long-neck from 4YO mare Purrpurrlena (Catbird-Magdalena, by Snaadee) with a further short-head to fellow 4YO mare Melpomene (Elusive Quality-Bulla Borghese, by Belong To Me). So Anyway (a $200,000 yearling consigned by Rheinwood Pastoral at the 2008 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast) now has 2 wins & 6 placings (including last start's Listed James Carr Stakes over 1400m at Randwick on April 25 & March's Gr2 Surround Stakes over 1400m at Warwick Farm, plus 2009's Gr2 Perfect Vision Ilasik Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill & Gr3 TBV Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes over 1200m at Flemington) from 17 starts for $338,650 earnings.
